Our Impact

Weddings at Copdock Hall live in the details. The florist two villages away. The bread baked that morning by a local baker. The Suffolk suppliers who help shape each celebration.

Becoming a Certified B Corporation™ is about putting structure and accountability behind the way we’ve always worked with those people and that place.

A meaningful milestone

Certified B Corporations™ are businesses independently verified by B Lab against high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

For us, certification meant reviewing every part of how Copdock Hall operates, from our team and suppliers to our environmental impact.

Certification also anchors a long-term culture and strategy at Copdock Hall, shaping how we plan, invest and grow in the years ahead.

Copdock Hall was certified in March 2026 under B Lab’s V1.6 standards.

The numbers behind the certification

Certification requires a verified score conducted over four evidence-driven assessment stages by the Global B Lab team. The median score is 50.9, and the sector average score for certified B Corps is 81.0.

Copdock Hall was verified at 90.5.

This reflects the culture, systems, policies and day-to-day practices that underpin how we run the venue.

What that looks like at Copdock Hall

Our Suffolk neighbours

In the past year, Copdock Hall directed £1.46 million into its local supply chain.

Our recommended suppliers are primarily Suffolk-based independents, and most third-party suppliers booked by couples come through those relationships.

Alongside this, our team supports local initiatives in ways that are decided at venue level, from community events to local partnerships.

Food that tastes of Suffolk

Our 30-mile menu is a clear commitment. At least 80% of the fresh produce served at weddings is sourced within 30 miles of the venue.

This supports local producers and keeps our supply chain shorter and more transparent.

We are also:

  • Now powered by renewable electricity tariffs

  • Working with a zero-to-landfill waste partner

There are also many other areas we continue to develop as part of our longer-term approach.

Mindful with water

Operating a historic building and vineyard comes with responsibility.

We use:

  • Low-flow fixtures

  • Low-volume irrigation

  • Rainwater harvesting

Our 2026 goal is to reduce water use to below 35,000 litres per wedding — a saving of approximately 5,000 litres per wedding compared to 2024, or around 780,000 litres per year.

We continue to monitor this closely and expect further improvements over time.

The team who make it happen

Every wedding at Copdock Hall depends on the people behind it.

We are accredited as a Real Living Wage employer, committing to pay based on the real cost of living and making us one of the 0.4% of UK hospitality businesses to achieve this distinction. We also plan rotas six weeks in advance, giving our team greater predictability than is typical in hospitality.

These practices form part of what is assessed through our B Corp certification.

Champions of Copdock Hall

Our Social Impact Champions are team members who help guide and implement our impact work day to day.

They play a key role in identifying improvements and ensuring commitments translate into action.
